Weymouth's Wessex Folk Festival







Events start at 8pm on Friday, with a concert in Hope Church featuring Last Nights Fun, supported by Camilla and the Can Openers. At approximately noon on Saturday, Hope Square comes to life with the Tree Fellahs who explode into a blistering set of jigs and reels. After that, it is music all the way, culminating in the rising star Jodie Jones followed by
Djambo at 6pm.

At 8pm on Saturday and again in Hope Church, the festival are proud to present Dick Gaughan, with support from No Fixed Abode, whilst at 7.30pm in the Sea Cadet Centre, it could be your time to trip the light fantastic at a barn dance featuring Captain Thunderbolt.

At 11am on Sunday, Celtic Confusion take the limelight to start a musical journey involving, among others Bag of Rats, Three Tuns of Grass, the amazing Dave Stomp and the inimitable Finnian McGurk. At 6pm Benny and Nina, with Jigsaw, bring proceedings to a furious fiddle fired finish! In addition, it is busking, dancing and trade stalls along Trinity Road (and other sites across town) with showcases for new performers, workshops ranging from fiddle to bodhran, and a constant flow of music sessions in the Sailors Return and the Kings Arms.
