South Dorset Ridgeway Project Project News


Storytelling for all the family Sunday, 12th October 2008 4 - 6.30pm

Take a walk at dusk amongst the barrows of the South Dorset Ridgeway and listen to tales with local storyteller Tim Laycock. Inspired by the South Dorset Ridgeway?

A call to all artists …. we are organising an exhibition early in 2009, of art inspired by the Ridgeway. The exhibition will be accompanied by workshops and other events for schools and others who are interested. If you are interested in finding out more or taking part please contact Sarah.

Hi. Thanks for your comments, the picture is of Bincombe Hill just outside of Weymouth. Locally known as 'Bincombe Bumps' it is said that the burial mounds on the hill are fairy haunts, and if you lay your head on one of the mounds at midday you will able to hear the distant sound of fairy music within.
